Born July 4, 1949, in Clarendon County, he was a son of Sue Esther Junious Canty and the late Edward Canty, Sr. He was educated in the public schools of Clarendon County. At an early age he joined Greater St. Phillip RMUE Church where he remained a member. He moved to New York at the age of 18, and in 1995, moved to Louisiana where he worked for General Motors Corporation and retired after 30 years of dedicated services.

Survivors are: his wife, Linda Robinson Junious of the home; one son, Kenneth Young of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three daughters, Jacqueline Kelly of Brooklyn, N.Y., Marcina Smith and Katrina Junious, both of Charlotte, N.C.; one stepson, Corey Robinson; his devoted mother Sue Esther Junious Canty of Rimini; four sisters, Rebecca Canty, Susan Canty and Lue Bertha Perine, all of Brooklyn, N.Y., and JoAnne Stancil (Rufus) of Queens, N.Y.; one brother, Edward Canty Jr. of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. NALLEY Lucille Nalley, age 90, away Friday, March 2, 2012, at McLeod Loris Hospital following an illness. Born in Norris on NALLEY Aug. 11, 1921, she was the daughter of Mr. Bob Maddox and Mrs. Edith Couch Maddox.

Mrs. Nalley retired from the textile industry and was a longtime member of the Loris First United Methodist Church. She will be most remembered as a loving grandmother. Survivors include her two sons, Eugene Earl Jannie Louise Greene was bron Dec. 29, 1913, in Mayesville to the late Walker Smith and Carrie Moses Smith.

She' departed this life on Feb. 29, 2012, at her residence. Mrs. Greene accepted Christ at an early age and was a devoted and faithful member of St. Mark United Methodist Church.

She served diligently in numerous roles until her health declined. She served as president of the United Methodist Women, church secretary, unit leader, gospel choir, senior choir, usher board and pulpit aide. She attended Lowery Institute in Mayesville. After many years in the workforce she retired from Lemira Elementary School in Sumter. She leaves to celebrate and cherish her memories seven children: Jessie Mae Fields, Jannie Elaine Greene of Staten Island, N.Y.; Daniel (Carol) Greene of Rochester, N.Y.; Carolyn (Oliver) Rose of Charleston; Elias Greene of Mayesville; Mamie (James) Wilson of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and Eunice (Yulonda) Greene of Sumter; 21 grandchildren, 34 greatgrandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren; two very special cousins, Margie Gourdine of Portsmouth, and Helen Walker of Mayesville; and a host of nieces, nephes, other family members and friends who will also miss her presence.

She will be sadly missed by all whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elias Greene; a son, Samuel W. Greene; her parents; two sisters, Lou Emma Frasier and Bell Smith; and three brothers, Bennie Smith, Williams Smith and George Smith. Public viewing will be held today from 3 to 07 p.m. at Job's Mortuary.

Mrs. Greene will be placed in the church Monday at 11 a.m. for viewing until the hour of service. Funeral services will be Monday at noon at St. Mark United Methodist Church, Mayesville; the Rev.

Born in McComb, he was one of seven children born to the late Thelma Larry Ashley. As a young man, he joined the United States Navy, from which he retired after 24 years of service. He then settled in Sumter and continued his education at Central Carolina Technical College in trade welding. While there, he was offered a position with Campbell Soup Co. and worked there for 17 years and retired.

As a faithful man, he was a member of Bethel AME Church of Wedgefield and was actively involved with the Sons of Allen Mininstry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Ronda and Andre Ashley. Surviving are his two daughters, Paulette Tobias and Pricilla Bodger; a special granddaughter, Tremaine Ashley; three sisters, Pearl George Nickles, Beatrice (Earlie) Thompson and Margaret (Frank) Caston; one brother, Ameal (Clara) Ashley; five grandchildren; a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
